Nancy and Nori

Red and pink balloons, flowers, and stuffed pillows lined the streets of Mae Sot this week, with the hottest commercial spot being just outside the walls of the Thai high school.  Thai teen couples streamed into the night market and many of the expats enjoyed the evening at Kung’s bar, where “love on the rock” was the drink special of the night. I spent the evening with a group of ladies sitting around a small table with a large bag of chocolate in the middle and cold drinks in hand – a wonderful way to spend a Valentine’s Day. The evening set the scene for discussing wedding dress shopping in Mae Sot, so next week some ladies and I will explore the small clothing stores in town, making the first stop at a store that is oozing ruffles and frilliness! We’ll see what they have to offer a bride-to-be!
